Preparing for the trip

On the 14th of January, I volunteered to lead the Children's Ministry team of our trip.  This means I am in charge of planning the "VBS" for the children.  Basically this trip has made me very busy.  I am still so overwhelmed and it still feels so unreal.  I leave in 3 weeks, it's bizarre!!  I have been learning lots of French and so much about the culture in the Bahamas.  There are so many amazing traditions there.  God has truly been challenging me as I prepare for this trip.  Twenty- three days to go until I am in Spanish Wells.  I cannot wait to see what God has in store for me.

I have gotten a very amazing opportunity to go on a youth mission trip to the Bahamas specifically St. George's Cay or Spanish Wells.  Before I leave in February to go on this trip there is a eight week prep course that I have to take.  In the eight weeks I am meeting my other team members, learning French (the language they speak), getting to know the culture, figuring out my role on the trip, and much more.  It feels all so sudden because I just found out I was even going on the trip and it is only six weeks away.  Thus far I have learned how to start a conversation in French and I have been told I have an amazing French accent.  We have so many different opportunities to work our strengths and weaknesses on this trip but all of our main focus it toward starting a leadership program and teaching the children how to be compelling leaders for Christ in their own communities.  Although I do not know much yet I am looking forward to the weeks to come to prepa...
