Blessed.

It's a word many use, but can it be overused?  I don't believe it can be.  I am blessed.  In countless breathtaking ways.  Overwhelmed by the beauty in the lows of life.  Yes, the lows of life are what really get me.  The tears that fill my eyes are not to express being sad, they are the way my body and mind rejoice over giving my all.  My all isn't just my mind but letting my life be consumed by the uncontrollable radical will of the Lord. Looking back at all my yesterday's I can tell you they were challenging.  Most days have moments of frustration, anxiety, depression, and feeling lonely.  Honestly, I am weak and I struggle with a lot.  Let me tell you something that may be surprising... My favorite part about myself is my moments filled with tears.   Now I never thought I would be saying that.  You see my tears used to fill me with fear.  What if people think I'm weak?  Why can't I get my life unde...

Lost in my wilderness

I walked into God's presence today.... I heard the ground praise.   I saw the plant trust. I watched as the dust served. The water showed me how to thirst. The wind taught me how to breathe. My eyes saw His grand beauty  My ears heard the earth praise  My nose smelt the wonder of God My mouth fails to express the glory He deserves My hands felt the detail in His creation This week the earth taught me how to worship.  In all that nature does it praised God.   I got lost in my wilderness.  While I'm not like the Israelites and I haven't been wondering in a literal wilderness, I found myself wondering through life.  Just like the Israelites I was paying attention to all I didn't have and not the blessings that were constantly being poured on to me by Christ.  Instead of being in awe that God was giving them manna daily and providing water through rocks, they spent there time looking for the things that weren't th...

I Refuse

Image
Often we forget to breath, we forget to take a step back and see things outside of our personal worlds.  It is hard to go every way at once.  There is a need and craving all around us for love, for peace, for justice and for so much more.  What gets you out of your seat?  What calls you to conquer the world, and spread the much needed love?  Do you refuse to hear that call?  I encourage you to refuse to sit around, this week refuse to let the world around you go unloved.  Many prayers are said in passing, or they pass off our lips as we pray before we shove food in our faces.  Most of all my friends,  why would you wait for someone else  to do what GOD called YOU to do?   Each of us are a different set of hands and feet that God has made for a unique purpose and a unique time.  I can guarantee that my weakness are your strengths or vice versa.  I'm not saying that it won't be hard.  So...

Remember Who You Are

Image
Do you ever feel lost in life?  Like you are traveling with your eyes closed.  Maybe you feel tugged in two different directions.  I often get lost going any where.  There are so many ways to get to one place.  Often as Christians, we can lose sight of where we are going.  The world bombards us with thoughts, emotions, opinions that cause us to get caught up and confused.  Watch this scene from the lion kind and then continue reading...      That scene has always amazed me, it continues to open my eyes.  We are all constantly undergoing an identity crisis, losing sight of who we truly are.  "Look inside yourself.  You are MORE than what you have become.  Remember who you are.  Remember..."  Who are you?  Are you a introvert or extrovert?  Public schooled or home schooled?  A teen or adult?  Right or left brained?  ...

Mary vs. Martha

Image
Have you ever gotten to know someone who it the exact opposite of you?  Maybe you are even related to your other side.  Mary of Bethany and Martha are the sisters that are complete opposites.  Their older brother Lazareth is who Jesus brought up from the dead.  When Jesus would travel to Bethany He would stay with Mary and Martha.  These ladies set the stage on what it looks like to be a followers of Jesus, in there different ways.  I think God used these sisters to show us what we should strive for in our relationship with God.  Are you a Martha or Mary?           Martha is know for her "famous" scene in the kitchen, getting irritated that her sister wasn't there to help her prepare food for all their guest.  In Luke 10:38- 42 we read this story and see her ask Jesus,  "D o You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? ...

Good Friday Testimony

Today I got the blessing and opportunity to share my story at our new church. Click here>  The lifestream of tonight's service  to watch, I speak at the 45-minute mark.  You can also just read it below.           "Jesus wrecked my life, shattered it to pieces, and put it back together more beautifully.”   Katie Davis writes in her book Kisses from Katie.   Multiple times my life has been shattered , and God has built me into who I am today through those moments .   But my life moto has always been “If God bring s you to it, He can bring you through it.”         I have two older sisters and I have always been very close with both of them.  My eldest sister Stephanie, a school teacher lived closes to us and spent most weekends with us, she played a major role in my life.  I looked up to her , she was my older sister after all.  I n the summ...

Clear the Stage by Jimmy Needham

Image
As life seams to speed up and the week comes to a close this song comes into my mind.  The world will always pull us deeper in but we are our best selves when we give God the rains and let Him tug on our hearts.  Pastor Charles Stanley once said, "Earthly wisdom is doing what comes naturally.  Godly wisdom is doing what the Holy Spirit compels us to do."  The world is all about quick fixes, but God knows that our pain, or problems can be solved with his love.  Our Messiah came to fix our messes.  All we have to do is clear our stages and fix our eye toward our king. Listen to this song with an open heart, and open mind: "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." - Romans 12:2       This is the constant battle all Christians face.  Not falling into the...

I try not to wear mask but I do have diffent sides...

I have an apology to make, none of you know me.  It isn't that I am not comfortable or myself around you but that each of you brings out different aspects of me.  Each of you knows me a little differently because each of you bring out a unique part of me, and you have been through different journeys with me.  Here are some of my different sides.  Let me know which one you know best, or if the side you know isn't listed. The Struggle is Real Side      If you know this side we relate on a deep level.  We probably have the same desires for our future.  You understand what I go through day to day from being a little boy crazy to wanting to eat junk food all the time.  Often times in our conversations I reply "ditto" or "same."  We grow closer as friends by being bad at the same things, the struggle is real.     Fandom Side      Don't tell anyone b...

The "Essential" Apps for Life

Image
To get out of the habit of checking social media I deleted all the apps from my phone for a week.  When I went to download them all again I noticed something, they are under the category of essentials.  The Apple app store tells us that Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, YouTube, etc are "essential."  What???  They are essential for procrastination, and wasting time.  These apps are not essential to everyday life.  I decided to look a the other apps in this category.  They have some reasonable ones including an alarm clock, calculator and financial tracker.  Then there are ones that make me more sad like Temple Run, Clash of Clans, Tinder, and the Starbucks App.  What are we doing with our lives America?  Can you please look up from your block that "connects" you to the world and see the humans in front of you?   The Reason I went Social Media free: This is what I get for falling.      I was fru...
