We are family!: Now and Forever

Image
Like every family we have had our ups, and out downs.  As each challenge, and change comes along we learn.  We learn how to love, communicate, laugh, care, and ultimately we have become united.  One working group.  We don't have it all together, but together we have it all.        We have always loved doing things as a family.  Whether that be sports, hobbies, or even vacations.  Doing it together makes it so much better.  We have had countless adventures in our past, and an abundance to come.  As Psalm 133:1 states "Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!"  Which has been the biggest thing to learn, how to live together, unified.  Weather that be getting along, challenging each other in our walks with God, or simply continually learning more and more about each other.  We are challenged to be unified.         In the weeks to come I have ...

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all uphill, When the funds are low and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit- Rest if you must, but don't you quit. Life is queer with its twists and turns, As every one of us sometimes learns, And many a fellow turns about When he might have won had he stuck it out. Don't give up though the pace seems slow - You may succeed with another blow. Often the goal is nearer than It seems to a faint and faltering man; Often the struggler has given up When he might have captured the victor's cup; And he learned too late when the night came down, How close he was to the golden crown. Success is failure turned inside out - The silver tint in the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell how close you are, It might be near when it seems afar; So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit - It's...

My Children

My Children,      You are free to be imperfect for I have already sent my son to be perfect.  Live in the freedom I have set out for you.  Live united in me.  For when I live in you, you are greater.  All you need is me.  I will lead you through the darkest nights and the brightest mornings.  I will carry you through your hard times.  There is no need to ever feel hated for you are in my arms.  My love is all around you.  You just have to have the faith to see it.  Oh, my little children, you have overcome.  By the blood of the lamb, it is well.  Smile your brightest know in I am with you.  There is no need for fear.  But in all things know I am lord and you are loved.  ~ Father  "Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." 1 John 4:4 "He must increase, but I must decrease." John 3:30

Focus

Image
It is difficult to stay focused.  The internet has it's way of disturbing conversations, quiet moments, and everything else.  You can be easily distracted by a simple text and find you brain drifting away from what you are doing.  It doesn't even have to be our phones that distracts us.  Often times our thoughts distract us in conversations and we end up thinking about tomorrows plans, or today's struggles. "Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you."  Proverbs 4:25      Living in the moment requires complete attention.  Imagine going outside and truly admiring God's beauty, without pulling out your phone to take a picture.  Having a conversation with no distraction, a conversation that deepens  relationships.  With no need to post about it on Facebook.  God works in every moment we just have to take the time focus on Him and welcome Him in to each moment.   ...

Let Freedom Ring

Image
As Christians we live in freedom everyday.  As written in Galatians 5:13 "For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters.  But don't use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature.  Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love."   We are called to live in freedom, but we have to use our freedom to serve.  What is freedom?  Freedom is a state of exemption from the power or control of another; liberty(Webster's 1828).  The freedom we have as Christians is from sin and death (2 Corinthians 3:17).  As weird as it may sound we are free because we live as loving followers of God.  "I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts." Psalm 119:45 says that we are free because we follow the rules.  Which is why I find it so beautiful that we celebrate the day our founding fathers signed the Deceleration of Independence.  Declaring "that they are endowed by their Creator...
