Let Freedom Ring
As Christians we live in freedom everyday. As written in Galatians 5:13 "For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don't use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love." We are called to live in freedom, but we have to use our freedom to serve. What is freedom? Freedom is a state of exemption from the power or control of another; liberty(Webster's 1828). The freedom we have as Christians is from sin and death (2 Corinthians 3:17). As weird as it may sound we are free because we live as loving followers of God. "I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts." Psalm 119:45 says that we are free because we follow the rules. Which is why I find it so beautiful that we celebrate the day our founding fathers signed the Deceleration of Independence. Declaring "that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." Read the Deceleration of Independence and learn about the minds of the men that fought for your freedom. Understand why George Washington said "It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible." Our founding fathers were wise and courageous leaders. Learn from them, love like them Let freedom ring, the freedom of your nation, and your freedom in Christ. Let it ring so all can hear the beauty in a united people of God.
