Memories
If any of you are theater junkies like me when you here Elphaba and Glinda sing "Who can say if I've been changed for the better, but because I knew you. I have been changed for good." You think of someone, either a friend, sister or someone who used to be a dear friend. I have been focused on memories lately and how the events of my life have shaped me into who I am today. A quick little timeline of significant events in my life.
2010 - I went on my first trip alone to visit my great aunt in Boston
2011 - I attended a camp called SIFAT for the first time
2012 - My family went on a mission trip to Guatemala
2013- We traveled to Canada and my eldest sister got married (big change for me). Plus I went to SIFAT with a new church (scary) became homeschooled and attended Teen Pact for the first time.
2014- We had a family reunion! Andrew and I traveled to Spanish Wells, on our first mission trip, and started this blog.
2015- Last year we moved out of the RV into the mountains, and I started my Etsy business.
It is harder than I thought to write a short sentence about the years of my life.
"I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now." - Philippians 1:3-5
My remembrances of times with my family and friends keep me going. Oftentimes I rely on small conversations, with deep meaning. Since moving to the middle of nowhere, I have learned that you don't have to live close to have life long friendship. I have had long distance best friends for three years now. Those relationships are extremely strong and reliable. Moving has shown me that they are especially hard when they are all you have. It takes me forever to make 'new' friends. In turn, I have been relying on my long-distance besties. That has made the last eight months of my life difficult. In turn, my relationships with friends has never been stronger. As I take this time to (sort of) journeying through memories, I am eternally grateful for each and every one of those relationships.
