New Year!!

Each new year brings us new opportunities.  You have 365 days, 52 weeks or a year, to achieve something great.  What are you going to do in 2016?  Many Americans decided to not make resolutions in fear of failure.  If they do make goals, they are impractical ones.  The top ten are...

  1. Lose Weight
  2. Get Organized
  3. Spend Less, Save More
  4.  Enjoy life to the fullest
  5. Staying fit and Healthy
  6. Learn Something Exciting
  7. Quit Smoking
  8. Help Others
  9. Fall in Love
  10. Spend More Time with Family
All of those are nice dreams and maybe starts of goals but they are not set up for success.  Goals can only be achieved if they are practical.  I can have a goal to be fluent in a language by tomorrow but that won't happen.  Knowing the way I learn I need time and lots of it to reach that goal.  I think that all goals should set you up to enjoy life and to live it to the fullest.  One of my goals for 2016 is...

To live with Gratitude
  • Write a thank you card each week in 2016
  • Write down three different things each day that you are grateful for.
Goals prepare you for the furture.  They keep us aiming for the stars.  Goals remind us that behind every weakness is strength.

"But you, take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded.” - 2 Chronicles 15:7
"I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 3:14

It is a new year, what will you do to create a better you.  In any moment you can make goals, don't let small set backs equal failure.  My friends reach for the stars, they will always be perfectly out of reach.
