Joy

I don't always smile,
I don't always laugh,
I don't always live in the moment

But I live with joy

I live with heart break
I live with pain
I live with dissapointment

But I share my joy

I share my smile, through my heart ache
I share my laugh, through my pain
I share my moments, through my dissapointment

True joy is only found in One.
The One that is often lost,
The One we often ignore.

Wake up all who are weary,
Wake up all who lost hope,
Look up all you who are sad.
Joy is constant through Christ.

Have you ever thought about the meaning of success?  Why do we strive to be in the spotlight?  What does God say about being successful?  Mathew 25:14-30 shares with us the parable of the talents.  (Go read it! Mathew25:14-30 {Bible Gateway} ) The master gives them their talents according to their ability.  Knowing that the servant who only got one talent wasn`t as capable as the servant who got five talents.  Success should be weighed on our past accomplishments, not the accomplishments of others.  Diversity is woven through all of us.  In turn it doesn`t make sense to compare our weakness to others strengths.  God`s power is made perfect in our weaknesses.  Just as God said to Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:9 "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."  Success is measured by degree of effort.  Biblical success is faithfully using our talents, gifts, and opportunities to glorify God. Preparing for the trip

On the 14th of January, I volunteered to lead the Children's Ministry team of our trip.  This means I am in charge of planning the "VBS" for the children.  Basically this trip has made me very busy.  I am still so overwhelmed and it still feels so unreal.  I leave in 3 weeks, it's bizarre!!  I have been learning lots of French and so much about the culture in the Bahamas.  There are so many amazing traditions there.  God has truly been challenging me as I prepare for this trip.  Twenty- three days to go until I am in Spanish Wells.  I cannot wait to see what God has in store for me.

I will not be Attending a “Christian” College

College, a journey we’ve all been looking forward to, yet one of the biggest decisions of our lives.  You start to google to find out what options you have, before you know it you are lost.  Lost in the long list of all the different school, the pressure seams to build and you don’t even know what you want/need anymore.  If your smart or gifted then schools “fight” for you, if your average (like me) then you got to roll with the punches and find the school for you.  As I go about finding my college, I now know that I won’t be attending a Christian college and here is why. Being a Christian is so much more than following a religion and set of “rules” brought on by a church.  It is the following Christ in every aspect of our lives, and I feel that we have lost that in many ways as a Christian community.  Why would I go to a school when I don’t agree with all that they believe in?  From the experiences I’ve had in the past I know that any school/org...
