Let's go

As we hit the road early this morning the excitement continues to build for the next adventure I get the blessing to take part in.  It has been a dream of mine to get to return to the beautiful Blackwood community in the Bahamas since I had to painfully say goodbye the individuals there in 2014.  Click here to read the post from my last trip!  Now my brothers and I have gotten the opportunity to go on this trip.  It is even more exciting for me to experience this trip with my brothers, since before I know it I will be going off to college.  Eagerly anticipating walking back into the Blackwood community, which almost feels like home to me.  Memories are filling my thoughts.  I am beyond excited to see what God is going to do, and all that He has done since I was last there.  My church has given us 150 dresses to donate to the girls of Eleuthera.  That is a tremendous blessing and a wonderful God-thing that has graced me with more excitement as I've packed and prepared for the trip.  Today I left the mountains to drive down to Florida and by Monday afternoon we will be on the island of Spanish Wells ready for all that God has planned.

Let's go!  God has called us to love on all nations.  I am ecstatic to do just that.  I can not wait to serve and love not only the people of the Bahamas but the strong group of fellow young adults that I will be serving beside.

Preparing for the trip

On the 14th of January, I volunteered to lead the Children's Ministry team of our trip.  This means I am in charge of planning the "VBS" for the children.  Basically this trip has made me very busy.  I am still so overwhelmed and it still feels so unreal.  I leave in 3 weeks, it's bizarre!!  I have been learning lots of French and so much about the culture in the Bahamas.  There are so many amazing traditions there.  God has truly been challenging me as I prepare for this trip.  Twenty- three days to go until I am in Spanish Wells.  I cannot wait to see what God has in store for me.

I will not be Attending a “Christian” College

College, a journey we’ve all been looking forward to, yet one of the biggest decisions of our lives.  You start to google to find out what options you have, before you know it you are lost.  Lost in the long list of all the different school, the pressure seams to build and you don’t even know what you want/need anymore.  If your smart or gifted then schools “fight” for you, if your average (like me) then you got to roll with the punches and find the school for you.  As I go about finding my college, I now know that I won’t be attending a Christian college and here is why.
