Ministry Day

Day One: March 18, 2018

“Praise be God” a phrase heard over and over again throughout our day.  I can’t get over how beautifully God works within these missionaries.  Through going to church and experiencing each of the ministries I continually see God’s hand here in the Dominican Republic. 

Today we went to church, which was in Spanish.  I adore getting to worship in forgiven languages.  Spanish is such an amazing language and I am continually growing such a desire to learn it.  The food here is fantastic!  They have been feeding us wonderfully.  We got to do a ministry tour today and go around to all the different ministries that they work with but all where we will continue to work throughout the week.  Including church plants, Life House, Mercy Home, and the Palms School. 

I cannot express enough how beautifully God is working here in this place!

Have you ever thought about the meaning of success?  Why do we strive to be in the spotlight?  What does God say about being successful?  Mathew 25:14-30 shares with us the parable of the talents.  (Go read it! Preparing for the trip

On the 14th of January, I volunteered to lead the Children's Ministry team of our trip.  This means I am in charge of planning the "VBS" for the children.  Basically this trip has made me very busy.  I am still so overwhelmed and it still feels so unreal.  I leave in 3 weeks, it's bizarre!!  I have been learning lots of French and so much about the culture in the Bahamas.  There are so many amazing traditions there.  God has truly been challenging me as I prepare for this trip.  Twenty- three days to go until I am in Spanish Wells.  I cannot wait to see what God has in store for me.

I will not be Attending a “Christian” College

College, a journey we’ve all been looking forward to, yet one of the biggest decisions of our lives.  You start to google to find out what options you have, before you know it you are lost.  Lost in the long list of all the different school, the pressure seams to build and you don’t even know what you want/need anymore.  If your smart or gifted then schools “fight” for you, if your average (like me) then you got to roll with the punches and find the school for you.  As I go about finding my college, I now know that I won’t be attending a Christian college and here is why.
