We are here!!

Thank you for your prayers as we traveled.  Our team has arrived safely.  We are very tired but expectant for all that the Lord has planned.  Tomorrow we are learning about all the different ministries we will be working with and for throughout the week.  We will also be attending church at a local church plant.  Today I have learned that I don’t know Spanish at all.  It will be a very interesting week putting my little bit of Spanish to use. 

Overall, I am tired but looking forward to all that God has planned for this week.  It’s been extremely fascinating to see how God has placed us each so perfectly on this team.

Have you ever thought about the meaning of success?  Why do we strive to be in the spotlight?  What does God say about being successful?  Mathew 25:14-30 shares with us the parable of the talents.  (Go read it! Preparing for the trip

On the 14th of January, I volunteered to lead the Children's Ministry team of our trip.  This means I am in charge of planning the "VBS" for the children.  Basically this trip has made me very busy.  I am still so overwhelmed and it still feels so unreal.  I leave in 3 weeks, it's bizarre!!  I have been learning lots of French and so much about the culture in the Bahamas.  There are so many amazing traditions there.  God has truly been challenging me as I prepare for this trip.  Twenty- three days to go until I am in Spanish Wells.  I cannot wait to see what God has in store for me.

I will not be Attending a “Christian” College

College, a journey we’ve all been looking forward to, yet one of the biggest decisions of our lives.  You start to google to find out what options you have, before you know it you are lost.  Lost in the long list of all the different school, the pressure seams to build and you don’t even know what you want/need anymore.  If your smart or gifted then schools “fight” for you, if your average (like me) then you got to roll with the punches and find the school for you.  As I go about finding my college, I now know that I won’t be attending a Christian college and here is why.
