My New Best Friend!
My brothers are both my closest friends. It has taken a lot of work to become best friends. Yes, we still fight but we now know how to communicate and understand one another. Today I am sharing with you my three tips to a new best friend. Short simple and to the point.
Time
What do you have in common? If you don't have anything in common, create something to have in common. Take the time to truly get to know your siblings. Purposely spend time with your brother or sister. Every relationship takes time, make sure you take the time. What frustrated me the most with wanting become friends and not just siblings with Andrew was the time it took. It won't happen over night.Laughter
Laughter brings us together. It is so much fun to let loose and be goofy with my siblings. Telling jokes and simply being childish. Have fun and make memories with each other.
Be Open
It is hard to be vulnerable with anyone, sometimes even ourselves. Being open with your siblings shows them that you do truly care for them. Communicating how you feel will help any relationship grow. It isn't always easy but it is worth it.
"Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." - Ephesians 4: 32
"Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." - Ephesians 4: 32
I am still learning everyday. How to argue with them less, and love them more. Know that there will always be hard moments, but you will always know that you not only have a sibling but a friend. Take the time to laugh and be open.
