A Long Day of Traveling...

It has definitely been a very long day full of traveling.  We were at the airport by 9:30 this morning and quickly got through all of our flights and travels.  It has been a smooth adventure so far with no major difficulties.  Today has mainly been a day to get to know one another and to getting settled in our home.  We won't get into the Blackwood community until Wednesday.  I'm looking forward to experiencing going into Eleuthera and exploring at the beginning of the trip instead of at the end.

As we flew in I was surprised by how badly the hurricane hit the island.  It was worse than I personally expected.  Pray for continual recovery from the damage.  Coming on the island everyone is already excited and happy to see our team.  I look forward to seeing what God will do!

Today is our least eventful day since we were mainly traveling, but I do look forward to sharing plenty of details in the days to come.

Preparing for the trip

On the 14th of January, I volunteered to lead the Children's Ministry team of our trip.  This means I am in charge of planning the "VBS" for the children.  Basically this trip has made me very busy.  I am still so overwhelmed and it still feels so unreal.  I leave in 3 weeks, it's bizarre!!  I have been learning lots of French and so much about the culture in the Bahamas.  There are so many amazing traditions there.  God has truly been challenging me as I prepare for this trip.  Twenty- three days to go until I am in Spanish Wells.  I cannot wait to see what God has in store for me.

I will not be Attending a “Christian” College

College, a journey we’ve all been looking forward to, yet one of the biggest decisions of our lives.  You start to google to find out what options you have, before you know it you are lost.  Lost in the long list of all the different school, the pressure seams to build and you don’t even know what you want/need anymore.  If your smart or gifted then schools “fight” for you, if your average (like me) then you got to roll with the punches and find the school for you.  As I go about finding my college, I now know that I won’t be attending a Christian college and here is why.
