Ready? Set. Time to GO!

WOW!  In three days I'll be in the Dominican Republic.  That is amazing to me.  I've been expectantly preparing for this trip for months now but the fact that it is right around the corner is hitting me in waves of nervousness.  My passion to serve in the realm for human-trafficking is coming to life.  It is amazing me that I will be there so soon.  

 God has been preparing my heart.  I can't begin to express how amazed I am by how our Lord works and moves.  Last weekend God opened the door for me to go to The Garden Conference in Atlanta Georga.  There God worked on preparing me personally not only for the Dominican but also for this adventure in life I've been blessed with.  Blessed, its a word we use often in hashtags in this day and age but it also describes how I felt as I embraced knowlegde and worshiped this past weekend.  I am overwhelmd iwth a sence of blessing as I think upon how beautiful it is that God is alowing me to come on the adventure of loving his children.  He has blessed me with the gift of being apart of something so much bigger than myself and allowing me to dance in his will as he is workings in me, through me, and in the world around me. 

 These pre-trip feelings can be wrapped up in nervous but also amazed and beyond blessed.

Preparing for the trip

On the 14th of January, I volunteered to lead the Children's Ministry team of our trip.  This means I am in charge of planning the "VBS" for the children.  Basically this trip has made me very busy.  I am still so overwhelmed and it still feels so unreal.  I leave in 3 weeks, it's bizarre!!  I have been learning lots of French and so much about the culture in the Bahamas.  There are so many amazing traditions there.  God has truly been challenging me as I prepare for this trip.  Twenty- three days to go until I am in Spanish Wells.  I cannot wait to see what God has in store for me.

I will not be Attending a “Christian” College

College, a journey we’ve all been looking forward to, yet one of the biggest decisions of our lives.  You start to google to find out what options you have, before you know it you are lost.  Lost in the long list of all the different school, the pressure seams to build and you don’t even know what you want/need anymore.  If your smart or gifted then schools “fight” for you, if your average (like me) then you got to roll with the punches and find the school for you.  As I go about finding my college, I now know that I won’t be attending a Christian college and here is why.
