Good Bye Blackwood

Today was our last day in Blackwood I miss all of the children so much already.  It is unsubscribe how much I have learned thus far this week.  I am overwhelmed by love everyone both here in the Bahamas and everyone on my team is so loving.  My heart literally broke when I was saying good bye to all of the Blackwood kids.  We taught all of the children dental hygiene today and I got to help a wonderful girl named Eslaine with her essay.  I have made so many wonderful life time memories and some amazing friends.  Tomorrow is our last day and our free day so I am very excited to make some last minute memories.  I can not even describe what has gone on this week in the Bahamas.  Posted via Blogaway

Super Sundays

Today has been absolutely bazaar.  I just got home and I want to sleep so I am going to make this post quick.  We attended the local church service with the Boykins it was really cool and I learned alot.  Everyone is so nice and all the elderly women just wanted to give all of our team members hugs.  After church my house of girls went out to lunch and took a very fun adventure around the island.  One of the coolest things about Spanish Wells is you drive around in golf carts.  They don't need cars because the island is so small.  I can't believe there is only two days left.  I have connected with some wonderful young ladies and I wish I could stay here and help them each day.  Some of the girls have really opened up to me and they don't want me to leave.  I have pushed into some very difficult situations and I can't wait to see them all play out tomorrow.  Good Night!  I miss everyone so much. Swimming @ Preachers Cave

Our days have been really long starting at 7 and not ending till at least midnight.  We taught the Bahamian about personal hygiene.  It was eye opening to hear some of the questions they asked.  Most of them also got excited just to wash their hands.  I taught four girls how to swim and five how to float today.  It was so amazing to see their smiles and know that they feel safer now being able to swim.  We have been jumping off of new things each day today we also went to the blue hole.  Which is basically a very deep hole that you can jump into it looked really scary.  Once we came back to our homes we had some free time so we went to go get smoothies and walk the beach.  Then dinner tonight was so good we had fresh lobster that was caught today it was so extraordinary.  After debrief we played games and had dance parties.  I am so tired and need lots of sleep before a long day tomorrow.  Good Night! What a Great Day to Be Alive

Being able to do everything on the beach is so amazing.  I am having so much fun.  Today was the first day of VBS and everyone said I did good.  The morning flew by we did beauty today so my nails and hair got done today by the Bahamian.  Lots of time was spent at the beach again and tomorrow we teach the children how to swim.  In the afternoon we did a leadership workshop for all the teens who wanted to attend.  They are all so amazing and all they want to do is learn from us.  We went swimming before dinner and found tons of sea creatures.  We decided to come back to shore once we saw a baby shark.  We ended the night with a bonfire and worship on the beach.  I can't believe how fast the week has gone by.  Looking for ward to a beautiful day tomorrow.  Posted via Blogaway

Blackwood

Spanish Wells is so beautiful,  and the sun is up really early.  We did team work activities today.  Then we traveled on a boat over to Blackwood.  We did lots of work in the community personally I painted a house, and got to meet some of the children.  Tomorrow is the first day of "VBS" and I am very excited to see how God leads me through that.  This trip is really focused on going with the flow.  Before we went back to our homes everyone decided to go bridge jumping.  It was really excitingly scary.  The water down here is really saltly and a beautiful blue.  All of our days are super long.  I officially know all the team members names and hopefully I can remember some of the Bahamian children's names. And We Are Off

Image
I finaly got to the Spanish Wells and in our house at 6:45.  It has been one crazy and tiring day.  We had our far share of adventures.  There is a total of 34 people on the trip.  The airport did not have enough food for our huge group so we found a local Wendys for the rest of the students.  The plane to the Spanish Wells only fits 20 people!  So we had to split our group.  These small planes also did not have enough room for all of our lugage.  It took a whole nother plane for all the laugage.  The island is small but it is so beautiful, and I have not even seen it in the day light yet.  I got to meet the Boykin family(the family we are helping out) tonight.  All thier kids are sweet and very outgoing.  I can not wait to start serving the people here tomorrow and meet all the other children on the island. Family Fun Time!!!

Image
We spent our family time at the Discovery Place.  It was interactive and we had a lot of fun.  I personally enjoyed the aquarium the best.  But as you can tell the boys both enjoyed building things.  It has been a very fun and excited morning, but our day still continues on.

Road Trip!!

Image
Our journey started by all of us shoving into the Prius and we were off on our way to North Carolina. On our way to NC we found a couple of cool places to stop. Like a huge fire hydrant! Along with some really amazing art work. Once we arrived in Charlotte we relaxed for a little while. Then we went to the mall and went to a really cool tea store. We even played in the leftover snow which only Floridians would get excited about. I am very grateful for all the family time I got today and I am looking forward to meeting everyone tomorrow!

Quick Review Before I Leave

As I am finishing up all of my packing I feel a rush of emotions.  I am so excited yet I am also very nervous.  We leave tomorrow at 4:30 in the morning and start our long drive to North Carolina.  On Tuesday I get to meet the other teens that are going on the trip.  Then on Wednesday morning we fly to the Bahamas!  I can't believe how quick the trip came up.  It seams like just days ago I found out I was even going on the trip.  God has truly been leading me through this whole experience thus far, and I can't believe how much He has taught me through these past weeks.  Now it is time for me to jump into the unknown and get out of my comfort zone.   "If God brings you to it He will bring you through it"- Unknown
