Let Go, and Let God

I hold on to tight yet you still slip from my hand. I fear letting go but I know that is what is better for us both. It is my turn to let go now, I’ve said all I can say, and I've done all I could do. My place in your life is slipping away. Oh, how I fear what tomorrow brings, as I sit here today letting go. Letting go not because I want to, letting go not because you want me to, letting go because it is my turn to let go, and let God. I let go and turn back to prayer, to keep you close, to keep you cared for and protected. It is hard, but I know that even if I’m forever in the background, it is where you need me. I let go, I let God He is there, so I will not fear. Proverbs 17:17

"A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity." ~ Proverbs 17:17 This world seams to be full of surface level friendships and popularity contest.  Does anyone truly experience friendship?  It is difficult to love anyone or anything at all times, but it isn't impossible.  As an individual blessed by many deep friendships I feel I have learned about the struggle of loving individuals at all times.  Often our idea of love is linked to joy which isn't always the case.  I certainly hope my family loves me even when they are angry with me.  Love is shown though actions that are often done behind the scenes.  Love isn't loud, it is small acts of prayer and constant support.  I am proud to say that if I call you friend you are loved at  all times. As friends we are born to support each other in pain, sorrow, and joy.  As Proverbs 27:17 states: "Iron sharpens iron, as one man sharpens another."  Friends are like ...

Poetry in Pain

Broken I watch the mug slip from my hands it is as if it falls in slow motion. All at once the pain consumes me as the mug hits the ground.  Painful... Helpless... Motionless...  Then someone comes by your side and helps put you back together, filling the gaps with pieces of themselves.  You are made beautiful! But don't enjoy the beauty for too long, before you realize it the mug will once again slip from your hands.  Don't fear by the end of the clumsy cycle you will be a mosaic masterpiece. Mess Look at me I am a mess.   You think I am strong but I am so weak. You think I am wise but I am just in pain. You think I am happy but I am depressed.   Most things are not as they seam. At the heart of emotion is burning pain, so don't even try to hide it.  The mistakes I regret the most are the mistakes that were punished with heartache. 

I Refuse

      Often we forget to breath, we forget to take a step back and see things outside of our personal worlds.  It is hard to go every way at once.  There is a need and craving all around us for love, for peace, for justice and for so much more.  What gets you out of your seat?  What calls you to conquer the world, and spread the much needed love?  Do you refuse to hear that call?  I encourage you to refuse to sit around, this week refuse to let the world around you go unloved.  Many prayers are said in passing, or they pass off our lips as we pray before we shove food in our faces.  Most of all my friends,  why would you wait for someone else  to do what GOD called YOU to do?   Each of us are a different set of hands and feet that God has made for a unique purpose and a unique time.  I can guarantee that my weakness are your strengths or vice versa.  I'm not saying that it won't be hard.  So...

I will not be Attending a “Christian” College

College, a journey we’ve all been looking forward to, yet one of the biggest decisions of our lives.  You start to google to find out what options you have, before you know it you are lost.  Lost in the long list of all the different school, the pressure seams to build and you don’t even know what you want/need anymore.  If your smart or gifted then schools “fight” for you, if your average (like me) then you got to roll with the punches and find the school for you.  As I go about finding my college, I now know that I won’t be attending a Christian college and here is why. Being a Christian is so much more than following a religion and set of “rules” brought on by a church.  It is the following Christ in every aspect of our lives, and I feel that we have lost that in many ways as a Christian community.  Why would I go to a school when I don’t agree with all that they believe in?  From the experiences I’ve had in the past I know that any school/org...

Joy

I don't always smile, I don't always laugh, I don't always live in the moment But I live with joy I live with heart break I live with pain I live with dissapointment But I share my joy I share my smile, through my heart ache I share my laugh, through my pain I share my moments, through my dissapointment True joy is only found in One. Remember Who You Are

     Do you ever feel lost in life?  Like you are traveling with your eyes closed.  Maybe you feel tugged in two different directions.  I often get lost going any where.  There are so many ways to get to one place.  Often as Christians, we can lose sight of where we are going.  The world bombards us with thoughts, emotions, opinions that cause us to get caught up and confused.  Watch this scene from the lion kind and then continue reading...      That scene has always amazed me, it continues to open my eyes.  We are all constantly undergoing an identity crisis, losing sight of who we truly are.  "Look inside yourself.  You are MORE than what you have become.  Remember who you are.  Remember..."  Who are you?  Are you a introvert or extrovert?  Public schooled or home schooled?  A teen or adult?  Right or left brained?  ...
